Help: How do I make programs communicate over a LAN (local Area Network)?

I would like to know how I can make 2 programs transfer info to each other over
a LAN in Win95. I am most familiar with Delphi/Pascal, but I know a little C++.

If you can direct me to a DOC, or WEB page...ive me a sample source...Tell me of
a freeware component...or whatever, it would be greatly appreciated.
