Now, that sounds familiar... :-)
I remember having problems with CGI apps, it seems that when I
ran a BDE app in a different user context while another BDE app
was running on the console (which is typically the situation on
a CGI developer's machine) it would fail while attempting to
load the database drivers (which is what the BDE error means).
I solved that particular problem by upgrading to the latest
BDE version (3.5?) which I found on Borland's site (www.borland.com).
Another thing worth checking out is the registry entry which
indicates where the DLLs are located:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Borland\Database Engine
make sure that CONFIGFILE01 and DLLPATH only contains one entry (entries
are separted by ';'). This can happen when installing other apps
that use BDE into separate directories and earlier BDE versions didn't
much care for that situation (I doubt that has changed).
