I work for the Information Technology department of a university and
need to install Delphi 1.0 on our campus network for a class next
fall.  I have followed the guidelines set in Borlands knowledgebase
files and readme files on running the application from a read-only
directory.  However, when I try to access the help files, I get an
"EConvertError in module MULTIHLP.DLL"  I have narrowed the problem
down and it appears that by setting the PrivateDir variable in the
Globals section of DELPHI.INI the help files bomb.  However without
this setting the help files work fine but I get errors on exit when
Delphi tries to save certain configuration files.  Does anyone know a
work around for this problem?  Or possibly how to stop Delphi from
wanting to save the configuration files?  Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
