Mysql-delphi-speed connect?

Thanks a lot Richey.
i want to ask you something...
i use myODBC driver to connect to database.
i use actually an apache server on my PC under win98.
when i connect to database with delphi (just after it asks me the user and
password) i have to wait a long time(approximatly 1 or 2 minuts!)
Do you have any idea?
