Victor Ishkeev's components seem to have this sorted pretty thoroughly. If
you're using D1 there's a freeware component called LPTCTRL which gives
everything you could need. The D2/3 components are trialware, but not
pricey.
I downloaded the D1 component from the Delphi Super Page last year. If it's
no longer there I can send you a zip. Victor's website was noted in someone
else's reply to your query.
