I am considering using Delphi for a new project. One of the requirements
of the project is storing BLOB data. There will be approx 100,000
records of possibly > 1Mb binary data. The target database is SQL
server.

Is it safe to use the databases BLOB field, or is it better to implement
my own BLOB store, and just put references in the database. If o.k in
the DB how are disk full > multiple disk configurations handled.

I would very much appreciate an e-mail chat with someone who has tackled
blob storage with Delphi / SQL server
