how the hell do I position bands?

I have a report that has been transported by the INCREDIBLY LAME automatic
conversion the QuickReport does from version 1.0 to 2.0.  I'm attempting to
add another group of bands to supplement the information we are currently
providing in the report, but I can't move the new bands I create no matter
what I do.  Is QuickReport stupid?  Am I?  Why is it that when I create a
new group header band to start my group, the PopUpMenu for it show a choice
called "Move Band Up" that does absolutely nothing?  Shouldn't this choice
be greyed if it does nothing?  It's placing this group header band BELOW MY
FOOTER.  What's wrong?  Is this a conversion issue?  I have to say I am
very, very disappointed in the new QuickReport interface.  Intuitive is not
the word I'd use to describe it.

Hello!

Quick Report orders the bands on creation order. If you want to reorder it
use Bring to Front/ Send to Back.

Try Setup Master property to TQRGroup Band.
Hope this helps.

Re:how the hell do I position bands?

1. In Quickreport 2.0 bands are sorted according to the real
printing order.
2. You CANNOT place a band on the form and set its bandtype
to
rbGroupHeader: This Won't work. You should put a TQrGroup
component
instead and this will automatically show a group header
band.
3. There are also several SIGNIFICANT differences between
1.x and 2.x
quickreport. Please read the documentation placed on
\program files\borland\delphi 3\Quickrpt.

Re:how the hell do I position bands?

Will,

Unfortunately, even "INCREDIBLY LAME" doesnt give the QR2 conversion
proper credit! ;-)

Dont even try to convert. Bite the bullet and re-write it!

I aged about 3 years in 2 weeks when I tried to "convert" my QR1 reports
to QR2xxxxxxx.

Ended up restoring my backed-up QR1 reports, as QR2 totally trashed
them!

Now, I've ordered D4, but after reading these posts, I'm getting a real
bad feeling in the pit of my stomache!

I wish I could use QR1.1a (32-bit) with D4, but according to QuSoft,
they have stopped "supporting" QR1 (did they EVER support it?). Please,
someone tell me of a package with the QR1.1a (32-bit) in it!
