left sided menu, xp style kinda2004-05-05 03:26:59 PM cppbuilder96 hi I have seen so many apps using those fancy menu on the left side lately, just like win xp uses it for different purposes (eg. system control). Is there a free component that could provide such a thing? ps.: i dont even know how these things are called ;) |

What he's talking about is called a Task bar. For example, in XP, open
the Printer and Faxes folder. Click Tools>Folder Options. In the Tasks group select 'Show common tasks in folder' and Click OK. Thge panel at the left is a Task bar. I know what you mean by the Outlook bar - it's functionality is just different. regards, jeff Pete Fraser wrote: QuoteOr is it OutlookBar? |

You can make an OutlookBar look like that. See TmsSoftware's Inspector Bar
which can look like an OutlookBar or what you described. Rgds Pete "Jeff Weir" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >wrote in message QuoteWhat he's talking about is called a Task bar. For example, in XP, open |

QuoteYou can make an OutlookBar look like that. See TmsSoftware's Inspector Bar (TRzGroupBar). The control has three styles (CategoryView, Outlook, and TaskList) which change the functionality of the control. Developer Express has the ExpressNavBar product and I'm sure there are dozens more. The long and the short of it is (and to answer ike's question) ike is looking for a free component and I don't think the majority of the free Outlook bar components support the behavior he's looking for. regards, jeff QuoteRgds Pete |
