It looks to me like CBX already has 2-way RAD support for
wxWindows right now. I'm still waiting for someone to
correct me on this.
It does, but it doesn't seem to be ready for production use.
Also, someone posted a link to the wxwindows website that mentions
support for Borland. That link makes it sound like wxwindows is still
being worked on.

wxWindows does already support bcc so you should be able to use it. I
think Borland must be putting a lot of effort into the RAD part.
But the letter also does mention 2.5.1 so new things must be coming in it.

If so, does the personal edition include wxWindows capabilities (apart
from downloading and building it yourself)?
According to the feature matrix on the website, no. The RAD preview will
not be in the free personal addition.
Personally, I disagree with this. CBX won't be useful to many BCB
customers until the RAD support is ready. Those customers should be able
to test drive the preview RAD support at no cost IMO.
Unfortunately, I don't get to make the rules in my own house, let alone
for a publicly traded software company.

I agree. $600 is a hell of a lot to try a preview and see if it is what
we are looking for future projects. I suppose there will be an
enterprise trial, but when your busy, the 30/60 days soon runs out :)

Windows is a small minority compared to embedded developers who probably
number far more than windows programmers. This I think is what Borland is
aiming at.

Yes, I have a feeling CBX can be used for embedded development with GNU
tools today. Using gdb's remote debugging, one can debug embedded SW. I
know I'm going to attempt that soon ;)

Does anybody know when will we get RAD in CBX?
We need portable component library for Windows, Linux, Solaris!
We need it ASAP. Now we are before the choice:
take Qt just now or wait for RAD in CBX. What will you suggest?

I thikn it's a safe bet that if you use wxWindows, your work won't be in
vain.

Alex,
How positive was/is your experience using wxWindows for professional
work?

Alex,

How positive was/is your experience using wxWindows for professional
work?

It's non-existent at the moment. My comment meant to relay the fact that
a project utilizing wxWindows will have natural continuity in CBX.
