There is a complete article on this subject at Code Project.
www.codeproject.com/useritems/CapturingMinimizedWindow.asp
But unfortunately it seems that the window have to be restored.

If it's a TForm and your code, use TWinControl's PaintTo
method to cause the form to paint itself to a TBitmap's
Canvas.

Is it a VCL form?
Note that using normal form painting operations to a bitmap may not work for all the
VCL controls. For example, the text in a combobox may not render correctly.
Our TExcellentFormPrinter product can do a very nice job of capturing a form
to a TBitmap , including the entire form (portions that are scrolled from view),
and forms that are shown off the screen.
If you are intrested in going this route, send me an email for a code example of printing
a form to a bitmap, as most of the print functions in the unit assume you are actually
printing to a real printer.
Anyway, to get this to work, simply show the form off the left side of the screen
(so the user does not see it), print it to a bitmap, then minimize it, and reset the
left property back to the way it was.
