Hi people,
I want to switch from Paradox into interbase database and write an small
test application to check the tables.
If I use following command in paradox database, no problem...
Label1->Caption = Table1->Database->Directory; //Table is already active !!
but if I ask it from an interbase database: I get an Error:
feature is not available. (Merkmal nicht verfügbar)
any idea ?
thanks

MR,
The property Directory is available only for Local Databases,
like Paradox and dBase
As stated in the Help File:
Note: Do not use Directory when connected to remote
databases. An exception is raised in these circumstances. An
exception is also raised if an application accesses Directory
when the database is closed.
What are you trying to do ?

In addition, if you're converting applications from Local Databases to Interbase
take a look at

Craig as very usefull information there.
There are some points that you cannot miss.

Re:Paradox -> Interbase and ask Directory problem

Hello Antonio,
thank you for your information. It is very helpfully.
You are right, I had a local database and wrote some information in a ini
file in this directory. I just commented it out at the moment and have to
make some changes and write the ini file in another directory.
anyway thanks for your help.
the link is very good.
thanks again
