BDS2006 Help files mess

I have installed and run my new copy of BDS 2006 Enterprise. It
includes a lot of 3rd party libraries which have their own help
files. It seems something didn't get registered right, because I
can't open any of their help files! The file extensions are
HxS, HxT, HxI, etc.
This help system is COMPLETELY different from BCB 6, which I'm
used to. How do I add these help files into the selection that
opens with the Help menu in the IDE?
Thanks,
Terry

Re:BDS2006 Help files mess

They should have some form of installation script or application.
Which component packs are they? Do they come with a
batch file like regXXXXX.bat
Registering help files in HtmlHelp2 is not for the faint hearted!

No batch file. I gathered, from other threads, that these files
are supposed to be read with the Microsoft Document Explorer. I
tried to just "Open with..." Document Explorer, which is at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Help\dexplore.exe
But this didn't work either. It won't open the file.
It returns
"Invalid command line. Unknown switch: <path to help file>"
This is really, REALLY annoying. I spend $3200 for BDS 2006, it
comes with NO printed documentation. And I can't even open the
help files which weren't registered in the list with the others!
Why were some 3rd party help files registered while others
weren't?
Aaaarrrrggghhh!

I have a shortcut on my desktop pointing to:
"C:\Program Files\Fichiers communs\Microsoft Shared\Help\dexplore.exe"
/helpcol ms-help://borland.bds4
This works for me.

I got problems too with the help files until I installed the last
version of the MS platform SDK which also uses this kind of help files
with dexplore. Since then, my problems disappeared.
