Hi!
im trying to create an application that stands in memory and responds to a
key shortcut like
Ctrl + F12.

This is not an IDE issue. This group is for discussions related to the
IDE
itself. Your question would be better asked in the .nativeapi group
instead.

Look at either the RegisterHotKey() function and the WM_HOTKEY message, or
the SetWindowsHookEx() function and the WH_KEYBOARD hook, in the Win32 API
documentation.
