BDS has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please tell Microsoft...2007-02-24 12:44:56 AM cppbuilder103 I was trying to create code editor templates yesterday and I started to encounter problems when exiting the C++ Builder IDE. The following dialog keeps appearing over and over again and I end up re-booting my PC. Borland Developer Studio for Windows has encounterd a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to us. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous. It gives an error signature of AppName: bds.exe AppVer 10.0.2558.35231 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset 5309ac20 How can I get this problem identified and fixed? |

If it is repeatable, add it to qc.codegear.com as a new
report. Rgds Pete "Larry Griffiths" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >wrote in message QuoteI was trying to create code editor templates yesterday and |

Thanks Pete.
This does not happen every time I exit the IDE. I will try to remember what I do each compiler session to try to narrow it down to something I do in the IDE. Larry {smallsort} |

Re:BDS has encountered a problem and needs to close. Please tell Microsoft...
I used to find exiting the IDE crashed all the time. My solution was to
click File | Close All before File | Exit - for some reason explicitly closing before exiting worked fine. I haven't actually tried just using Exit with the latest patches and updates installed, since the two-step process is habit now. I know it was pretty much essential to do it after Update 1.
