What - you don't believe in the "when it's ready" mantra? :-))
No, I subscribe to the "all the money you see on the table when you
close the deal is all the money you'll ever see out of it" point of
view. That's why I'm not going to go for 1.0... too incomplete; I think
I called it 'actual release of vaporware'. IMO the put the legal beagles
on it to make sure it's worded in such a fashion that these
'commitments' are not legally binding. They'll see my money when I see
the product they claim it'll be && I need.

Why? Just because CBX was released, do you think everyone immediately
drops BCB6? There are still groups for Turbo Pascal and Borland C++ on
this server.
Not non-technical groups for complaining.

managed C++ isn't C++ anymore.. it's
Java-ized C++ <smirk>.
well, Delphi without pointers and BASM is a {*word*99} too.

No, but these products are quite a lot older than this one. Does anyone
*want* to get rid of the BCB groups, anyway?

Not really. I hardly ever use BASM, and if I do, only to optimize
something that is very critical.
In .NET, you can do a lot of things without pointers, and if you really
want, you can use pointers (writing so called "unsafe" code, which means
it can't be run in an untrusted environment, like directly from the
Internet).
