That's sound like the perfect vacation, no computers ;-)
Enjoy the trip :-)

What? You expect to be around computers with access partial time?
What kind of vacation is this? :-)
Forget about us. Go enjoy yourself. Have fun.

Don't you have to ask permission from us before you do that?

Have a good one - I'll be in florida at the end of July and I'm looking
forward to it - having said that it's been as hot in the UK recently and we
don't have huricanes here (too often).

'Been hot'? What exactly is 'hot' in the UK? From what i've seen you've been
getting the odd high 20's? You'll have a fun time in Florida if you find
that hot :).
Vesty.

Re:Re: Vacataion

Indeed, yes we're expecting it to be much hotter in Florida but it's nice to
have it in the mid-hight 20's over here for a change.
Perhaps I should have omitted the 'as' in "it's been as hot over here" as it
hasn't quite. <g>

Re:Re: Vacataion

Well, being British means that anything over 18 is hot and anything above that is still regarded hot. We don't understand anything 'hotter', its just hot <g>
techincally its not as hot. But being british, we can't tell if its hotter than 18 as we have never 'truely' experienced it <g>
so to us, its just as hot <g>

In the US, anything under 32 is below freezing. Y'all have a funny
sense of what's hot. :)

Centigrade and Fahrenheit. Just like the world is on the metric system while
the US is not, the world is on Centigrade while the US is on Fahrenheit.

Re:Re: Vacataion

Well, I was quite warm when I was working in the Baltics mid-winter. The
temperature rose to a balmy -10 centigrade so I was beginning to sweat and
had to eat an ice-cream to cool off (true). Normally, it had been
between -30 and -40 centigrade. Thus, a British summer can be stiflingly hot
in comparison. Many Brits end up with dehydration if the temperature goes
much about 20 as we're just not used to drinking that much fluid.

Centigrade? You're behind the times, old lad - it's called "Celsius"
nowadays in Europe.
Mind you, as good engineers, we should all be using the Kelvin scale
anyway ;o)

Re:Re: Vacataion

How interesting - you remembered that I live in N Carolina, but spoke about
New Jersey. Right now I am in New Jersey (find the southern tip, go North
about 7.5 miles and East to the Atlantic coast and you'll find me - it was a
long, 10-hr drive to get here).
No jokes about the accent here. "Joisey" isn't spoken in these parts, only
in "Noith Joisey" which everyone knows is really "little New Yawk". <g>
The storm that's effecting you is supposed to do us in tonight and tomorrow.
It will get colder and the rain is already beginning.

Yes sir, we suthners here in Jawjuh do be pitying those
po' folks who must live mid wintry blasts. Them
Caroliners sure be cole places.

Actually I was talking to a friend today in New Jersey, and
its been warmer there than Georgia. But at least the sun
came out today.

Not all of the US. Metrication is not an all or nothing choice. It is
slowly becoming more commonplace. US aviation weather has been in
Celsius since 1996. No fuss, no riots in the streets.
