Question regarding DIB Bitmaps, the TBitmap object and ImageMagick++2004-07-16 03:53:25 AM cppbuilder68 I am attempting to develop a component that works similar to the TBitmap but uses the ImageMagick++ library. I know there are components out there for delphi that do this but they do not do what I need and they do not provide source code. This object will be highly customized to the application that I am constructing. The main issue I am running into here and I am really looking for some wisdom is the design approach. Should I inherit from TGraphic and generate the necessary calls to support that object type or should I just use TBitmap. I will need to accept graphics events for the new component such as clicks and mouse overs and the like. My initial gut reaction is to just define a TGraphic component. The issue of my insecurity is that I am not sure how ImageMagick handles the DIB or even if it does and how I might implement the draw function from the storage model of ImageMagick. I am still researching that but I am putting this e-mail out in the jopes that some generous person has already figured all this out and that they might provide me with a tidbit or two of wisdom on what road I might travel down.
