NOTE EVERYONE -
WE CAN ONLY DISCUSS THIS IN THE 'NEW GROUP' !
Don't we have enough lists already ?

No they have explicitly not promised to release another Delphi with VCL
for Win32 support.
There seems to be a commitment to do "an update", which can mean no more
than a D7 patch.
I think your wording is a bit misleading. It can mean more alright. It
can mean a lot. But anyway, that is off-topic here.
Followup set to borland.public.delphi.non-technical

Different product, different group. Makes sense, I think.

Successor to BCB, so same product.

No, not the same product, no matter what you say, Kris.

Yip... it can mean a lot more, but Borland isn't making any commitment.
Based on their past plans it seems like they are going to deliver more
than just an update, but it is just delayed that's all. I guess we'll
just have to wait and see...
Cheers,
Kevin.

Good quote that deserves a light grammatical correction.
It should be "has no heart".

So when do we get a statement on the future of BCB if BCX
has nothing to do with it?

First sentence of the "Long Term Product Line Strategy," I think.

new C++BuilderX IDE."

I have a feeling that Legal demanded that some stuff be removed. This
letter seems pretty tame and uninformative for having been delayed for so
long -- it doesn't really answer any fundamental questions, and gives no
dates as to when important features (like the GUI designer) will be
available.

The document probably had to be signed by George Foreman and then checked by
the CIA, FBI, KGB and Mossad just to make sure it wasn't a secret code to
tell al-Quaida that their next mission will be on November 17th in London
when George Dubyah visits.

Maybe the cause of the holdup was removed?
