anything about video card

hi`~
I use opengl for a while time, I rellay want to know it how to interact with
hardware , something about inner mechanism of video card like VGA MODE, etc.
, not only simple introduce about rending pipeline ,but these documents seem
hard to be found~~-_-!!
Anyone give me a hand, thanks in advance~(sorry,my english is not very
well~)
