Does anyone know why BDS2006 states a requirement for XP Pro?

I'd hoped to be able to use it on my laptop, which has XP Home.
For ASP.NET development - XP Home doesn't include IIS. It does, allow
ASP.NET development via Cassini, which BDS includes on the CD's.
Many, many people develop in BDS 2006 under XP Home. It's just not a
"supported" platform.

I guess it will work on Home (as D2005 does, on my laptop), but I didn't
try yet.

It runs fine for me on XP Home at home and is running fine on Win2K at
work if that helps.

Thanks to everyone for the info. I was concerned about some of the MS
products in the prereq install. I'm happy to hear that it works.

While this is true, there is one major issue with it -
if you need support with eg. installation, you will only receive the
message 'Not a supported platform'.
Unless you have the power to get your Borland representative to act
upon this you are stuck ... a sad situation IMHO, especially since most
laptops have XP Home installed as default.
