Re:Re: Inability to install BDE Merge Module 5.2 with C++ Builder 6
This problem here sounds like it is related to the problem I am
experiencing. I have an application written with BC5.2 that uses BDE (installation created with matching InstallShield) and I have a program written in BCB that uses the BDE (installation created with matching InstallShield) . I have created an installatin program for both of them. On several PCs I have problems running the BDE. What I found was the following. When I delete the BDE files from the harddisk common directory and install BCB3, BDE runs OK. If I then install my BCB3 program, the installation generates a BDE configuration error and the BDE will not work anymore. Installing my BC5.2 program (after removing the BDE files from the borland\common directory) will not create a working BDE but installing it after BCB3 will also not corrupt it. I have received the error that the BDE configuation cannot be merged several times during my investigations. It appears to me that on that PC there are conflicts between different versions of BDE. On other PCs everything works OK and the BDE runs fine whatever I install? Any ideas how I can solve my problems? Jos "Yu-Chen Hsueh" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM >wrote in message QuoteKleber, |
