[BCB2006] Using Delphi component: initialization section not executed

I'm using a Delphi component from a CPP builder 2006 upd#1 program.
At run time I get an exception. I traced the problem down to the
initialization section in the Delphi component not being executed.
Is there any known bug related to the initialization section ?
Is there any workaround ?
