Hi there,
Is there a component available acting the same as the dropdown list (folder
browser) in the file open dialog?
Thanks,
Zhan

Re:folderbrowser

Forget to say I am using BCB 5.

Re:folderbrowser

Hi Zhan,
The ShellShock library by (former) TurboPower includes such a component,
IIRC. The components are freely available at SourceForge and should
work with BCB 5.
Cheers,

Are all those components freeware now ?
Kind regards

Re:folderbrowser

Hi Asger,
A colleague of mine of mine was contracted to derive components based on
these, so I believe they are freeware; but if not, they are at least
open-source (thus allowing you to study the underlying technique).
Definitely worth extending the components for full Vista support.

Hi Damon
Thanks for the info, but what do You mean by:

Definitely worth extending the components for full Vista support.
I found the licence:
www.mozilla.org/MPL/MPL-1.1.html
But that is way to complicated for my english skils, but to me
it sounds as if we can use the package for free as long as we
mention the source..?
Kind regards
Asger

Re:folderbrowser

Hi Asger,
Just meant that the Shell Shock components will likely require some
modifications to work fully under Vista.
There's a good description of MPL here...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Public_License
From what I gather, your own application may be proprietary, but the
Shell Shock code itself (or any modifications to it) must remain MPL.
