I created a new console application (using the wizard), deselected use
VCL, selected multi-threaded, and de-selected console application. This
creates you a project with a WinMain. You can then delete the WinMain
because this is provided for you in the .lib.

That's how I did it.

If you like, I can send you the simple project I created (hello world
app). You will just need to change the include and lib paths. (It is
only for BCB6, though).

Thanks a lot for your effort, but I only have BCB5. I thought Adam
Versteegen has posted his project-file, so I can compare but his message has
dissapeared from the server. It looks like Borland is slowly deleting all
messages from last week.

If you do need more help with it, you can try comp.soft-sys.wxwindows
which I've just started monitoring out of interest. You could send me
your BCB5 project file, and I can convert it to a BCB6 file and see if
anything is wrong that way.

I have a wizard for creating a wxWindows project at bcbdev.com. It works
with BCB5 and BCB6. It is not guaranteed of course. But you may want to
create a project with it and compare the BPR with what you have.
If you don't want to mess with the wizard, I also have BPR's for several
of the wxwindows sample projects.

Borland is not actively deleting messages. There is a problem with the
news server that is causing messages to expire prematurely, or something
like that.

Thank you very much! Your readme gave the solution. I did read about the
alignment flag in the wxWindows files but missed the -b flag. So I checked
the enums as ints and voila... it runs!

Excellent, BTW, although I only managed to get it to work with the
debug version of wxWindows 2.4.2...
