As I said there, its about the most direct and unambiguous comment from a
Borlander that i've seen in a v v long time.
BCB 9 is on the horizon!!

YAY!
I already cheered in the other NG, but that deserves a lot of
celebration - and weren't you being "less than generous", uh? ;)

I'd say I was being cautiously pessimistic... :).
But given that my expectations were so low, now I'm quite impressed.

Due to my basic and passive knowledge of English
language can someone please resolve this:
1) This is a joke
2) This is NOT a joke
3) I also don't know

We have a saying here (Brazil) that states more or less that a scalded
cat fears cool water. :)

Me too.

Of course, one could read this to say that Delphi 9 has been
cancelled... (G,D,&R)

BCB9 is going to be released *after* D9 is released, if I understood
correctly and if they keep the previous leapfrogging pattern.
And I particularly don't think this is a problem, considering that we
were left out in the rain for such a long time, although an
intermediate BCB6 patch, updating the VCL to D7 and correcting at least
the showstopper IDE bugs would be much appreciated.

AFAIK, it isn't a joke.
There will be a new version of BCB released, it will be version 9. Its
release will coincide with the release of Delphi 9.
This much can be assumed from the posts of Robert E and Anders O.

I guess even I wasn't pessimistic enough to think of that as a possible
scenario :).

Re:BCB9 to be released when Delphi 9 is.

Check this out. Borland really is going to do this. What an absolutely huge reversal
on their part. Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Exciting tidbits of C++ information
Kenneth de Camargo: "Could be BCX, though. And no fixes for BCB."
Robert Ehteshamzadeh: "BCB means VCL with a snappy IDE written in native code, and
IDE extensions are written in C++ or Pascal, not Java."
Des O'Toole: "Could be a development of BCB6 or 'that other' VCL package [my note:
Delphi]."
Robert Ehteshamzadeh: "...VCL is back in vogue."
Tom Boser: "Bring C++Builder up to the Delphi level when the next major version of
Delphi for Win32 comes out."
Robert Ehteshamzadeh: "That is the current plan."
PS: As soon as we get a company wide blogging system (real soon now), I'm sure Robert
will start his own blog.
