Hi All,
I'm writing a "simple" maintenance type of program, such as customer
maintenance.
Image a couple of dozen fields spread over a screen in 2 or 3 columns.
(cust-no, name, address, etc, etc..)
What would be the best layout to use in such instances? (or combination of
panes / layout) ??
Thanks

If your dialog is simple enough, a combination of BorderLayout and
GridLayout or BoxLayout in combination with sub-panels might work.
But, it might be better to just pull out the most versatile tool in the
box and go straight for GridBagLayout. I know that people who haven't
taken the time to learn it properly really hate GridBag, but once you
learn how it works, you can really make any dialog, no matter how
complex, layout exactly the way you want.
