Hi there,
Is it possible to have an in-memory result set? without connecting to sql server. Something similar with Delphi's TClientDataset.

Investigate DataExpress.. (TableDataSet, QueryDataSet..etc..)

As John mentioned, look at the DataSet components. In addition, there are
the RowSet implementations that are a part of the core of J2SDK 1.5. They
offer several different models, ie RowSet, CachedRowSet, etc.
