In short, Danny Thorpe & Allen Bauer have been promoted. There's
mention of the "Delphi family of products", which sounds like a
resurrection of the old RAD team - Delphi, C++ Builder, and Kylix.
Yes, Kylix. Doesn't mean anything's going to happen, but it looks
good if the techno-geeks are closer to the decision making process.

Interesting news.
In my company almost all decisions which touch any technical things
made after consultations with technical specialists. Usually we make
some meetings in non official environment where management and
technical staff may discuss problem from all sides. As addition, we
call few guys which does not involved directly to problem. They usually
ask "stupid questions" and propose "wild, random and stupid solutions",
however others should answer on theirs questions in simple and
determined way, analyze theirs solutions and give explanations what is
wrong and why.
This usually help to clearly see the problem and unexpectedly find good
solution.

Is this posted in the Delphi group and if not it should be.
At last Borland is starting to figure it out as I have long advocated that
Borland needs to promote from within to its top positions, from where people
know what Borland is as it is a somewhat unique as a company and development
tools are not just another software product. Can you imagine where Borland
could be if they had done this years ago and not lost the likes of Brad
Silverberg, Paul Gross and many other very bright people (and no Del Yocam).
